Anthony J. Conger, PhD
Dr. Anthony J. Conger received his BA degree, Cum Laude, from Trenton State College (now, The College of New Jersey) in mathematics in 1962. In 1968, he was awarded his PhD in Clinical and Measurement Psychology from the University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois.
Since 1976 he was a Professor of Psychology and an Evaluation Consultant at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana where he is currently a Professor Emeritus. Prior to Purdue, he was a Senior Research Psychologist at Research Triangle Institute in Research Triangle Park, NC, a visiting Associate Professor at Duke University, Durham, NC, an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC and at the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario, Canada. He is a licensed psychologist in Indiana.
Dr. Conger’s consulting activities have included National Assessment and Evaluation of Project Head Start, National Longitudinal Study of the High School Class of 1972, Evaluation of Title I-Migrant Education, National Assessment of Educational Progress, Evaluation of Drug Free Schools and Community Act, American Guidance Service Revision of the Vineland Social Maturity Scale, and revisions to Purdue University’s teaching and course evaluation system.
He has served as editor and co-editor of the Journal of Personality, and has served on the editorial board of
Multivariate Behavioral Research, Journal of Behavioral Assessment, Behavior Modification, and Educational and Psychological Measurement. His academic honors include membership in Kappa Delta Pi, Educational Testing Service Fellow, election into the Society of Multivariate Research and election into SIGMA XI, The Scientific Research Society.
Dr. Conger has over 100 research publications and presentations. He has had research articles published in Psychometrika, Psychological Bulletin, Multivariate Behavioral Research, Educational and Psychological Measurement, Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, among others. His publications have included topics in statistics, test theory, and clinical measurement as well as research on personality and psychopathology with children, adolescents, and adults.
